Bring Your Kids to Campus Day- May 12, 2023

We are so excited to be bringing back our annual Bring Your Kids to Campus Day for its 11th anniversary! The day is designed to help promote the value of a college education as well as share with our children the fun and exciting place where we are fortunate to work, study, research, and teach. 

 

11th Annual Bring Your Kids to Campus Day Schedule:

The following is a list of activities offered on BYKTCD 2023. Please make sure to register! This will continue to be updated as more activities are added.

 

Registration Table: MU Quad 9am-3:30pm 
Sign in and pick-up a schedule and map of the day. University Housing and Dining will also be providing coupons to use a various locations to the first 150 families that visit the registration table.

 

Family Swim: Drop in 8-11am and 1:30-5pm, Dixon Pool 
Recommended Ages: All

 

STEAM Activities: Drop in 9:30-11am and 1-2:30pm, Bates Hall 129 
Recommended Ages: 3-10 years old 

Come join the staff at the Child Development Center from either 9:30-11:00 or 1:00-2:30 for some fun STEAM activities. 

 

Arts & Crafts: Drop in 10:am-12pm, Craft Center (SEC Basement) 
 Recommended Ages: 2+ years old 

Join the Craft Center is printmaking, bead creations, and oil pastel and watercolor explorations.

 

Face Painting: Drop in 10:am-12pm, Registration Table (MU Quad)
Recommended Ages: 2+ years old 

The Theater Department will be offering free face painting for kids at the Bring Your Kids to Campus Day registration table, so make sure to stop by!

 

Journey Around the Globe: Drop in 11am-1pm, ILLC 1st Floor Lobby 
Recommended Ages: 0-13

Take your kids on a journey around the world! Little explorers will have the opportunity to color a passport, take a photo at our decorated photo booth, and explore various cultures through music, dance, crafts, small treats, and activities.

 

ASOSU Drawing and Games: Drop in 11am-2pm, SEC Lobby 
Recommended Ages: 0-13
 
Join ASOSU and SafeRide for drawing, coloring, and a game of corn hole.

 

Yoga for Kids!: Drop in 12-12:45pm, MU 
Recommended Ages: 4-12

Through the use of storytelling, yoga postures will open our experiential program for children ages 4 to 12.

 

Get Crafty with the ASC: Drop in 12-3pm, Outside Waldo Hall
Recommended Ages: All

Look for the tent outside Waldo Hall and you'll find the Academic Success Center hosting some fun arts and craft activities for you and your children.

 

MU Lanes & Games: Drop in 12-6pm, MU Basement 
Recommended Ages: All 

Come down to MU Lanes & Games for discounted $1 bowling for kids! We have bowling, billiards, and gaming all in the same place so you don’t have to decide which activity you want to do, just when you want to do it! We will also provide tables so kids can color bowling themed pictures and take home a piece of Lanes & Games when they’re done!

 

KidSpirit Gymnastics: Drop in 1:30-4pm, Langton 3rd floor 
Recommended Ages: 4+ years old
 
Leap, roll and tuck with KidSpirit Gymnastics! Basic skills will include log roles, jumping on the tumble track, bars, lower beams and an obstacle course. Individuals need to wear clothes they can move in that are free of zippers and buttons.

 

Family Zumba: 1pm, Multi-purpose Room 2 (MP2) 
Recommended Ages: 5+ years old

 

Snack & Snaps with Benny (the President and Provost, too!): Drop in 1-2pm, Kerr 6th floor (room 650) 
Recommended Ages: All
Build-your-own snack and snap-your-own pics (bring your phone/camera) in the photo booth with Benny Beaver in the Office of the President. The 6th floor also has an excellent view of the education and arts building construction!

 

Building Stories with the Writing Center: Drop in 1-3pm, Valley Library Writing Studio
Recommended Ages: 3+ years old
We’ll invite you to build stories in a variety of ways—write it, illustrate it, build it, share it.

 

KidSpirit Gym Games & Archery: Drop in 2-4pm, Langton 3rd floor (300 & 301) 
Recommended Ages: 2+ years old
Come take your best shot at our inflatable archery outside of the gymnastics room! We will have the range set up for individuals to learn a little bit about archery! 

 

Treasure Hunt at The Valley Library: Drop in 2-5pm, Valley Library     Recommended Ages: 2-12 years old
Visit The Valley Library and complete a self-guided treasure hunt.  Maps are located at the main floor service desks to guide you to places in the library in search for books, buttons, and bells, and a small 3D printed gift. There will be a space in the Learning Commons for coloring and creating bookmarks using stickers, crayons and markers.  Also the OSU Extension -  Food Hero department will be onsite displaying recipes and discussing healthy snacks.

 

Are You Smarter than a Kindergartner-1st-2nd-3rd-4th-5th-6th Grader?: Drop in 2-5pm, Furman Hall 2nd Floor    
Recommended Ages: 5-12 years old
Visit the College of Education to play “Are You Smarter than a Kindergartner-1st-2nd-3rd-4th-5th-6th Grader?” trivia contest. Prizes for the parent or kid who wins!

 

“My Favorite Teacher” coloring contest: Drop in 2-5pm, Furman Hall 1st Floor    
Recommended Ages: 5-12 years old
Visit the College of Education to and draw a picture of your favorite teacher and tell us why they are your favorite. Winners posted on social media and throughout our building along with a gift card for the Beaver Store.

 

Family BBQ: Drop in 3:30-5pm, MU Quad   
Recommended Ages: All
After a busy day of having fun, stop by for a family BBQ hosted by the Family Resource Center.
