The Student/Parent Advisory Board (SPAB) works to ensure that OSU students who are parents have full access to all of the resources and opportunities offered by the university. To this end, we work to identify and remove barriers to student parents' academic opportunities and achievements.
The board works in partnership with the Childcare and Family Resources staff to identify and help develop programs and supports for students with children. SPAB also advises the university on various matters that affect parents on campus and other families with dependent care needs; advocates for increased family-friendliness across campus, and consults with CFR staff regarding the delivery of high quality child care services in our campus child care center.
The board is composed of students, staff and faculty. We meet monthly during the summer and every other week during the academic year. If you are interested in joining the board or attending an upcoming meeting, please email the board chair, Terese Jones, at [email protected] for more information.
