Family Resource Center Pre-Arrival Planning & Resource Guide

The Family Resource Center has put together a resource guide for international families to help parenting students, employees, and visitors plan for arrival, navigate life in Corvallis, and access  available resources at OSU and within the wider community.

INTO OSU

INTO OSU Student Services provides a range of co-curricular programs and services promoting social, personal and academic well-being. Upon arrival at OSU, Student Services helps students settle in to life in Corvallis, provide social opportunities and a variety of resources tailored to the specific needs of international students. Whether it’s a question about making an appointment with a doctor, finding a place to live, renewing your visa or anything else, there will always be someone available to help you.

International Services

International Services has advisors to help international students with their visa status, scholarships, admissions, I-20’s, orientation and so much more. They offer support for sponsored students, international scholars, and their spouses.

Moms and babies

International Moms Group

IMG provides opportunities for international mothers to learn and discuss parenting topics, maternal-child health issues, early childhood development, healthy relationships, cultures and customs, as well as practice English, build community, and support each other. Infants are welcomed and childcare for children, 5 months to 5 years old, is available during the weekly meetings.

Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center

Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center (CMLC) offers many free resources to be used at the center and some for checking out such as English as a Second Language books and workbooks for reading, writing, grammar, etc. They also host many diverse programs, projects and events like conversation partners, language tutoring, referrals to many other community resources, and various cultural events.
