New in 2025! Valley Library Picture Book Room

Located next to the Reading Room on the main floor, the Children’s Picture Book Room caters to student parents but is available for all library users. In addition to the new play area, a large study table is still available to give anyone supervising children their own workspace.

The picture books are available to check out like any other books in the library’s main collection, for 30 days at a time. They’re also organized on the shelves like any other books in the library, using Library of Congress call numbers. That means that unlike at the public library, books are grouped together by subject instead of author, and fiction and nonfiction books are also mixed. Toys and other activities are available as well. More information here: Visit the New Picture Book Room at Valley Library! | Libraries

Human Research Protection Program

Researchers with IRB-related appointments should feel free to bring their kids with them. They have a kids corner in the Office of Research Integrity that is open for them to use. Faculty and students with kids in tow need not miss out on in-office resources offered by the Human Research Protection Program.
